Golden Horizon Academy exceedingly trained tutors work with our students to improve their grades and build self-confidence, focus, organizational skills, critical thinking, and good study habits based on engaged learning behavior.
No matter what your child’s academic struggle is, or even if your goal is to get ahead, we can personalize a tutoring program that will work with you towards those goals. Our academy can help to reveal your child’s hidden or undeveloped potential and suppress struggles with our group and individualized tutoring programs.
We understand that every child is unique and that no two students learn the same way. After carefully considering the student’s current skills, academic learning style, and teacher’s feedback we provide the parent with a personalized plan to help their child reach their academic potential.
Golden Horizon Academy focuses on understanding the kind of student we work with. After sitting and discussing the matter with the parent, we will assign a tutor that best adjusts to the student’s characteristics and schedule their first one-on-one session.
We always suggest starting with a one-on-one session to better understand the student’s needs. Throughout the program, the academy will provide feedback and suggestions to the parent to help them understand their child’s strengths, struggles, and whether they should keep working in a one-on-one program or start in a small group program.
Golden Horizon Academy’s tutors organize small groups of 3 to 5 students, generally from the same grade and/or similar level of knowledge and skill.
Our tutors work with their groups in two different ways:
COMMON GROUP TUTORING SESSION:
Our tutors prepare a class in advance, based on the knowledge being imparted by our student’s school professors. Using the school’s textbooks, as well as their own, they will create a lesson plan that allows students to stay a step ahead of the class and exceed.
INDEPENDENT GROUP TUTORING SESSION:
Our tutors work with each student in the group individually:
- Helping them finish their homework.
- Discussing doubts that occurred during class.
- Preparing them for exams.
With this kind of teaching Golden Horizon Academy aims to help students in the group by listening and learning from the doubts of their peers. Whenever a student has a doubt, it becomes a chance for other students to refresh their knowledge or learn the material.
